The Marriage Plot By Jeffrey Eugenides.

I finished this last week. Eugenides is a Purlitzer Prize winner, which always sounds serious and he also wrote the Virgin Suicides, which was then made into a film with music by Air. Anyway, this is a book about three friends at university and the years immediately afterwards; and although it deals in serious subjects like marriage, divorce, friendship and -substantially- depression, I found it an easy read. It's languid and serious but it drew me in. So, a recommendation.
