Hurray for clutter. Our house is clutterful too ... only problem is the tripping over stuff :/
ReplyDelete"The objects in our house all mean something to us and I deeply believe that it is this that gives our house -any house- its soul."
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more. Besides, you look rather organized. Surely you've seen the book by ex-Ralph Lauren collector extraordinaire/major domo Mary Randolph Carter called (longest title, evs): "A Perfectly Kept House is the Sign of A Misspent Life: How to live creatively with collections, clutter, work, kids, pets, art, etc... and stop worrying about everything being perfectly in its place." If you haven't, get it!
Thorough enjoy your blog, Pedlars, et al.
Looking at the photos doesn't say 'clutter' to me, it says 'a warm, creative family home with wonderful vibes and striking and treasured mementos collected along the journey'. I'd take that over minialist every day. It's exactly the type of home my husband and I aspire to create for our family (so far: us, our 17 month old Chloe, our chocolate labrador Wilson and our cat Ollie). Getting there piece by piece, but its a house that evolves as your life does.
